My friends told me about Warpigs Brewpub before my trip to Copenhagen. These stories about good beer and heavy rock music – Warpigs is a Black Sabbath song – made me decide that this was one of the bars I certainly had to visit while in the capital of Denmark.

This brewpub is a collaboration between Mikkeller and 3 Floyds Brewing Co. and situated in the trendy Meatpacking District of Copenhagen. This area used to be home to Copenhagen’s meat industry businesses, but now this former industrial area is filled with bars, restaurants and galleries.

Warpigs is a pretty big bar/restaurant, but when we arrived it was almost empty. This was because everybody was sitting outside which wasn’t that strange, it was the summer of 2018 in Europe after all.

You had to go inside to order the drinks from one of the 22 taps with mostly Warpigs beers. At times it was really busy at the bar and you had to wait a while, which isn’t a punishment since I really enjoy their playlist. You could get lucky – or unlucky depending on how much you like the music – and be able to order straight away though. The smoked BBQ meats smelled really good, but we already ate, so I cannot tell if it tastes as good as it smells.

If you don’t like rock and metal this place might be a bit too loud for you. If you are into craft beer, heavy rock music and slowly barbecued meat however this place is perfect!
